Form 16 is a certificate issue by your employer every year. Form 16 is a certificate under section 203 of the Income-Act, 1961 which certifies that TDS has been deducted from your salary by the employer.
According to the income tax rules of India, if an employer deducts TDS on salary then he must issue income tax Form 16.
Understanding the content of Form-16, it will help you to file your income tax returns.
If Form 16 is not issued by the one employer as there was no tax deduction or for any other reason, you should yourself consider the salary received and tax deducted. You can get this information from the monthly salary slips or salary statements. This information along with the Form 16 issued by the other employer(s) can be used to file the personal tax return.
ITR has just one row for filling in the details as shown in image of filling Salary Details in ITR above and no employer details. So you have to do calculation yourself of your consolidated income, deduction and taxes. So your consolidated salary would be sum of Income chargeable under the head Salaries (point 6) in all your Form 16.
Please remember that e-Filing of Returns/Forms is mandatory for assesse having total income of Rs. 5 Lakhs and above from AY 2013-14 and subsequent Assessment Years.
Income tax instructions are as follows
For Salary details you need to add both the salaries , see if exemption is taken care of twice and calculate tax.
